A 50's Girl at Heart

I admit, I'm a 50's girl. Almost everything from that era appeals to me. The fashions, the cars, the lifestyles…why do I like it so much? I recently made myself a 50's style dress. I plan on making another. I'm drawn to that whole "Housework in heels" look. I like their movies and music. I've been told I would fit in one or two hundred years ago, but I would feel much more at home fifty years ago. What is it about the 50's that intrigues me so much? Is anyone else drawn to an era, or is it just me?

Sincerely,

Miss S.

  1. I like the 50s era too, but I think I am more of a 40s gal. I love the patriotism of that era. Everyone was rooting for their boys and had a common goal in life. Not to mention the music! I can still remember though when you got quite annoyed when I listened to my big band cds. I am glad you have had a change of heart!
    Love ya, Mrs. H

  2. I think I'm an 80's girl. The bad hairstyles...the goofy clothes...the cheesy music...ah, the good old days!

  3. I like the 50s era too ~ it reminds me of my grandmother. :-)

I'm finally adding you to my blogroll! (I'm so slow about updating.)

    Joyfully,

  4. I don't think I'm a 50's girl. More like an 1800s (America prairies or English counryside), and the 1930s! I love the look of the 30s, and I'm often told (mostly because of my pale face)I'm a "classic" beauty. :P

  6. I love anything older than the 60's. I would fit in anytime really. I just enjoy modern technology that allows less work!
    Another Miss S. :)
